My Haven of Love

His head lays cradled in my pillow. The warmth of his body soothes my soul. I have no wish to leave my present haven Of tender moments and love. So seldom have I known such bliss as When his eyes search mine. His devotion is staggering. His loyalty has no end. I feel safe and secure in his presence Because I know he's always guarding. How can I answer the questions of Why do I love him so? Where can one go to find answers to Why he would even love me? No answers suffice. No words can attain it. It's the way of life and love, And the desire to belong to someone. Oh! How I revel in my happiness and joy As I cuddle each morning and evening With my miniature long-haired Dachsund!
